Banner Exchanges
How Banners and Banner Exchanges Work
What is a banner? A banner is an image (picture)
that is displayed on a web site to advertise
a website. The banner is a "link"
in that when someone clicks on the banner it
brings them to the advertisers site.
A banner ad has two parts:
The picture, or image, is the part you can see.
The "website URL" which is the web
site address you want a person to land on when
they click on the image. Banner exchanges are
networks of web sites that trade banner advertising
space at no cost. A Banner Exchange is a web
site/service that provides the administration
side of the exchange of ads between members.
The exchanges handle the rotation of its members
banners throughout the sites within the network.
This makes it an automatic process for the web
site owners that participate in the exchange.
How to join banner exchanges and add them to
your Purchaseacasino site?
Joining banner exchanges is not a complicated
process provided you understand what the banner
exchange will need from you.
To do this you will first need to go to the
Banners and select a banner you would like displayed
for you on other sites throughout the Internet.
(NOTE: The banner you use does not appear on
your site, it appears on the other sites in
a banner exchange networks you join. So, if
you join three networks, you only need to pick
one banner in that you can give all three the
same banner)
This is important: As we mentioned earlier,
you will need to supply each banner exchange
with the banner you select. (NOTE: The size
of our banners is 468 X 60.) There are two ways
which banner exchanges can load your banner
into your account with them. Here's how:
1) The easiest way is when they ask on their
"join" application for the "Banner
Image URL". This is going to be the website
address you find right below the banner you
selected from our banner page. You will note
below each banner there is an URL. This URL
is the address of that banner on our web site.
Simply cut and paste the URL where they ask
for the "Banner Image URL" (case sensitive
and be sure to include http:// where required.).
The banner exchange will retrieve the image
from the URL you entered.
2) The second way is when they need your to
"upload" the image to their server.
To do this you first need to save the banner
image you choose onto the hard drive of your
computer. Go to our banner page, find the banner
you want to use, put our mouse anywhere on top
of the actual image and click the RIGHT mouse
button once. You will see in the gray box that
pops open an option to "Save Picture As…"
Click on that. Then you will see it opens up
the save box to save to your hard drive. Simply
save it somewhere on your hard drive where you
will remember. (Hint: Saving to the Desktop
makes it easy to find your banner) Once you
have it saved on your hard drive, it can be
uploaded to the banner exchange.
Once you complete joining each exchange they
will have your banner ready to go and next you
must provide them the space on your site to
place their banner (this is what you are doing
for them in "exchange" of them rotating
your banner on other sites). This is a very
important step and you must get it right, here's
how you do it:
The final step in the "join" process
with each exchange will lead you to a page where
they give you the HTML code you must put into
your web site for them. It will be several lines,
or more of code. You must copy this code by
holding down your left mouse button and dragging
over all of the code to highlighted it - get
all of it - nothing extra, but nothing less
than all of it. Once what you need to copy is
all highlighted, let up on the left mouse button
and click once on the RIGHT mouse button. From
the gray box that pops up you will see "copy".
Click that once. You will then go to your "Customize
Site" page and will find the section "Add/Change
HTML" you will click with your right button
in the box and choose paste. Click on "Save
Site Changes" and you have just added your
first banner!
